Rhythms of Discipleship
If someone invited you to church, what would you think they were asking you?
If your first thought is a certain place and time, you’re not alone! Most of us tend to think of church as something we go to, like a service in a traditional building on a Sunday morning.
The early Christians would not have talked about “going to church”. The church was a people, a movement of disciples that shared life deeply, gathering in one another’s homes, around the table, as extended families. The central message was, “You belong here” for “God is building a home. He’s using us all — irrespective of how we got here — in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together” (Eph. 2:19-22 The Message).
To this end, The Table is a community seeking to recapture this essential message of belonging as the church. In our cultural moment of increasing isolation, loneliness, and busyness we need resilient communities of faith. In order to raise up Missional Disciples we need deep friendship and family to help us keep practicing the way of Jesus in all of life.

We believe there are four essential rhythms of discipleship (ie being the church): Fellowship Band, Table Community, Learning Community, & Network Gathering. All four rhythms are a means to raising up Missional Disciples.
Our primary aim is to help everyday people start, develop, and multiply Fellowship Bands and Table communities. To help support these communities we also gather as a Network every six weeks as well as host Learning Communities throughout the year.

These four rhythms create a rich web of deeply committed authentic relationships with God and one another.
Fellowship Band
A 'Band' is a group of 3-4 people that gather regularly (weekly to monthly) to grow in friendship and to have spiritual conversation with one another (around our vision of discipleship). This looks like sharing our stories of following Jesus in everyday life as well as pointing each other to Jesus. Ultimately, bands help us abide more deeply in God (being filled with His love) and live missionally in the world (overflowing with His love).
Bands are closed groups, so if you would like to join one or start one for yourself please reach out to us and we can help!
Table Community
A Table Community is a group anywhere from 6-20 people (of all ages, married, single, etc) that gathers weekly and seeks to grow as a spiritual family and missional community. These communities gather around the table for a shared meal and conversation, share communion, worship together, and practice rhythms centered on formation, Scripture, disciplines, and mission.

Table Communities are open groups, but we do not advertise them. If you're interested in joining a Table Community please reach out to us and we'll get you connected.
Learning Community
A Learning Community is a short-term group, anywhere from 12-30 people, that gathers in order to be formed in Missional Discipleship. This could include anything from training in Fellowship Band or Table Community to how to pray or live on mission. We engage Learning Communities with an interactive style of teaching and conversation.
Anyone is welcome to attend a Learning Community, however, registration is required. Check our upcoming events here.
Network Gathering
A Network Gathering brings together any of The Table communities, every six weeks, to worship as one body. The purpose of these gatherings is to celebrate what God is doing throughout our communities as well as worship God through singing, praying, and teaching.
Anyone is welcome to our Network Gatherings! Check our upcoming network gatherings here.
